Data Privacy and Security are critical in education, ensuring student and staff information is protected and used responsibly. The New York State Regional Information Centers (RICs) provide essential leadership, assistance, and resources to help districts enhance their security posture. By aligning with local, regional, and state priorities, the RICs support schools in safeguarding sensitive data, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering a safe learning environment for all. Through the expertise of multiple Centers, districts have access to various resources to help navigate the complexities of data security, ultimately ensuring the privacy of personally identifiable information of staff, students, and the community.
